For over a half a century, Schott has specialized in the manufacture and design of a wide range of high quality transformers, inductors, and magnetic components made to customer specifications. Schott manufactures these products for various technological markets throughout the them and abroad. Some of these markets include; telecommunications, measurement and control equipment, military and aerospace and medical instrumentation and devices.
Schott began as a part-time home business in 1946 by its founder, Oscar A. Schott. Due to Oscar’s unique talents in electrical engineering, many companies approached Oscar to build prototype transformers and coils. In 1951, Schott became a full time corporation.
In 1970, when activities became diversified, the Marshall facility began operations producing pulse transformers for computers and is currently engaged in telecommunication systems. In the 1973, the Minneota facility began its operations producing power transformers. Due to growth and expansion, the Canby facility was added in 1979. Schott currently has its corporate headquarters located in San Diego, CA.
Schott has proven experience in the transformer and magnetic industry giving it a worldwide presence in the aerospace, telecommunications and medical industries. With additional facilities in Tijuana, Mexico, Duluth, MN, and Taishan City, China, Schott has become an employee powered organization which strives to enrich the lives of its customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and be the “Employer of Choice” for each community.
